Private Markets Analyst

LL Funds, LLC is hiring a Private Markets Analyst to join its growing team. The Analyst will engage across many functions of the Firm and will have exposure to the entire deal process from origination and due diligence through deal structuring and post-investment portfolio management. This role is a balance between financial analysis, business strategy and execution. The ideal candidate has superior analytical skills, is organized, and communicates effectively, both verbally and in writing. Candidates who take initiative, have a strong work ethic and a high level of maturity are considered ideal. The position is in our Philadelphia, PA office.

Responsibilities
  • Work with the senior members of the Investment Team to originate and execute equity investments in private companies.
  • Leverage market, industry, and competitive research to help assess the potential opportunity of a prospective investment.
  • Facilitate financial, analytical and valuation modeling by building and utilizing in-house and external models, in conjunction with cash flow modeling tools to evaluate a potential investment’s risk and return profile.
  • Manage the due diligence process by creating data rooms and organizing all data and checklists for each step.
  • Conduct due diligence, build valuation models and draft Investment Committee presentations and memos for distribution to LL Funds’ LP base.
  • Assist with quarterly portfolio valuations and limited partner reporting.
  • Post investment, assist lead partner in the ongoing oversight and portfolio company execution.
  • Manage, vet, and track portfolio company reporting and analyze portfolio companies' financial performance.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with industry, trade, and professional organizations to enhance the visibility of the firm and its portfolio companies in the marketplace and to generate investment opportunities.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
    • Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Math, Computer Science or related field with a strong record of academic success is required. CPA, CFA or MBA is a plus.
  • 1 to 3 years of relevant industry experience within asset management, investment banking, consulting, private equity, venture capital or corporate finance/valuation teams.
  • Strong data management skills with the ability to perform complex data analysis and reporting using Microsoft Excel and VBA required.
  • Ability to multi-task across analytical, administrative and research activities in a detail oriented and timely manner. High attention to detail is a must.
  • Outstanding initiative and strong work ethic with a high degree of integrity.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to collaborate in a team setting as well as work independently.
  • Superior organization, decision making and critical thinking skills.
  • Outstanding project management skills and the ability to work effectively in deal teams, often on several transactions or potential opportunities simultaneously
